Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using GradeGlance ("GradeGlance"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the application.

Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use GradeGlance. If you are under 18, you may only use GradeGlance with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms. GradeGlance is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

Disclaimer of Affiliation

Description of Service

GradeGlance is an unofficial dashboard that allows parents and students to view their Canvas LMS data in a consolidated interface. The application connects to Canvas LMS using your personal API access token to retrieve and display academic information.

Your Responsibilities

By using GradeGlance, you agree to:

• Provide accurate account information
• Keep your login credentials and Canvas API token secure
• Comply with your educational institution's acceptable use policies
• Comply with Canvas LMS Terms of Service and API policies
• Use the application only for viewing your own or your children's academic information
• Not use the application for any unauthorized or illegal purpose
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or interfere with the application

Acceptable Use

You may not:

• Access or use GradeGlance to build, train, benchmark, or improve a competing product or service, or to copy its features, user interface, design, or content;
• Use GradeGlance to perform competitive research or evaluation on behalf of a competitor, or create accounts for that purpose, without our prior written permission;
• Scrape, crawl, or use bots or other automated means to access GradeGlance or extract data, except through features we provide; or
• Resell, sublicense, or share access to your account.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

Canvas API Token

GradeGlance requires a Canvas API token to access your data. You are responsible for:

• Generating your own API token through your Canvas account settings
• Understanding that this token grants access to your Canvas data
• Revoking the token if you no longer wish to use GradeGlance
• Not sharing your API token with unauthorized parties

Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing

• Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Stripe.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time from Settings → Subscription & Billing. Your paid access continues through the end of the current billing period.
• We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law.
• We may offer free trials or complimentary access to paid features for a limited time. If a trial requires a payment method, you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Otherwise, the trial or complimentary access simply ends and your account returns to the free plan.
• We may change our prices. We will give you advance notice of any price change by email or in the app.

AI Features

GradeGlance includes optional AI-powered features that generate summaries using Azure OpenAI (a Microsoft service). Some processing also uses Azure OpenAI automatically, such as shortening long course names during sync, as described in our Privacy Policy. By using these features:

• You acknowledge that your academic data will be sent to a third-party AI service
• You understand that AI-generated content may not always be accurate
• You agree not to rely solely on AI insights for important academic decisions

Limitation of Liability

GradeGlance is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data displayed
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Compatibility with all Canvas LMS configurations
• That the service will meet your specific requirements

In no event shall GradeGlance or its developers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the application.

Data and Privacy

Your use of GradeGlance is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using GradeGlance, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to GradeGlance at any time, without prior notice, for any reason. You may stop using GradeGlance at any time by revoking your Canvas API token and requesting account deletion.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of GradeGlance after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
